Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Physicians at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialize in the medical and surgical therapy of the foot and ankle. Foot Institute Podiatrists spend around 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the next 4 years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to traditional medical school and in reality various podiatry programs are located within these schools. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another one to three years.

At the finalization of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have obtained substantial medical training with a concentration on problems concerning the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are educated to deal with complications extending from simple ailments for instance, fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are much more complicated like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have comprehensive surgical education which furnish them the skill needed to perform surgery on those concerns that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute furthermore have an extensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs receive as we walk, run or perform other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait peculiarities enables a Podiatric doctor to design footwear and orthotics which can provide pain relief and reduce the chances of countless issues which the feet usually experience.
