Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Doctors at The Foot Institute – Camrose concentrate on the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. They invest an average of 10 years in learning, the first four years in undergraduate studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to traditional medical school and as a matter of fact numerous podiatry programmes are located inside these academic institutions. After attaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 to 3 years.

Upon the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have gained wide-ranging medical training with an attention to on issues pertaining to the ankles and feet. They are qualified to handle difficulties varying from regular afflictions for instance, fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are even more puzzling such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have considerable surgical instruction which give them the practical experience crucial to conduct surgical treatment on those complications that are best remedied through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors also have a comprehensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs receive as we walk, run or perform other activities. Understanding biomechanics and gait irregularities facilitates a Podiatrist to create shoes and orthotics that can offer pain relief and defend against many troubles which the feet generally encounter.
