Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Physicians at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialise in the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. They invest around ten years in education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd four years in Medical School to acquire a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to traditional medical school and in reality numerous podiatry training programs are located inside these institutions. After acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have gained significant health care training with a stress on problems involving the feet and ankles. They are taught to treat complications extending from familiar afflictions for instance ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are much more obscure for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have significant surgical education which furnish them the prior experience necessary to conduct surgery on those troubles that are ideally remedied through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have an extensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs experience as we walk, run or perform other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait abnormalities allows a Foot doctor to design shoes and orthotics which can offer pain relief and help prevent countless troubles which the feet regularly encounter.
