Doctors at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our doctors devote an average of a decade in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd four years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to regular medical school and in fact various podiatry programs are located within these institutions. Upon securing a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another 1 - 3 years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have obtained thorough health care instruction with a main focus on concerns pertaining to the ankles and feet. They are trained to manage conditions ranging from regular conditions for instance ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are much more complicated for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have comprehensive surgical training which supply them the expertise needed to execute surgical treatment on those issues that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors additionally have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs undergo as we walk, run or perform other activities. Understanding biomechanics and gait peculiarities permits a Foot doctor to design shoes and orthotics which can give pain relief and defend against countless complications which the feet regularly encounter.
