Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Doctors here at The Foot Institute – Camrose concentrate on the surgical and medical treatment of the ankle and foot. Foot Institute Podiatrists invest approximately a decade in education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the next 4 years in Medical School to attain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to regular medical school and as a matter of fact several podiatry training programs are located inside these academic institutions. After acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another one to three years.

Upon the finalization of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatric physicians have obtained comprehensive healthcare education with an attention to on conditions concerning the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are taught to care for conditions stretching from conventional afflictions for instance fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are far more perplexing for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have substantial surgical education which give them the experience necessary to conduct surgery on those issues that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute also have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs submit to as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Knowing biomechanics and gait peculiarities permits a Podiatric physician to design shoes and orthotics which can give pain relief and minimize the risk of many problems which the feet typically encounter.
