Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical doctors at The Foot Institute – Camrose focus on the surgical and medical treatment of the ankle and foot. Our doctors devote about 10 years in learning, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd four years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to standard medical school and in fact various podiatry programmes are located inside these schools. After achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another one to three years.

Upon the fulfillment of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatric physicians have obtained comprehensive medical education with a main focus on concerns concerning the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are educated to care for problems extending from basic ailments for example, fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are more complicated including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have comprehensive surgical instruction which provide them the practical experience necessary to conduct surgical treatment on those complications that are ideally handled through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors also have an extensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs go through as we walk, run or perform other activities. Recognizing biomechanics and gait peculiarities empowers a Podiatric physician to design shoes and orthotics that can provide pain relief and avoid countless troubles which the feet normally encounter.
