They devote around ten years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to regular medical school and in reality various podiatry programmes are located inside these schools. After securing a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 - 3 years.

At the conclusion of the internship or post degree residency, our Doctors have received wide-ranging medical training with a focus on complications pertaining to the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are trained to treat problems ranging from typical problems for example, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are much more sophisticated for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have extensive surgical education which provide them the skill necessary to perform surgical treatment on those issues that are best managed through surgical intervention.
