Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Specialists here at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialise in the medical and surgical therapy of the foot and ankle. Foot Institute Doctors invest about ten years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd four years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles typical medical school and in fact many podiatry programs are contained within these academic institutions. After attaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another one to three years.

Upon the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatric doctors have obtained considerable health care training with a stress on problems involving the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are studied to care for conditions stretching from conventional conditions for instance, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are a lot more complicated for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have considerable surgical instruction which provide them the practical experience essential to carry out surgery on those complications that are best remedied through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet receive as we walk, run or perform other activities. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait problems allows a Foot doctor to design footwear and orthotics which can give pain relief and reduce the chances of a large number of troubles which the feet normally encounter.
