After acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

Upon the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have received wide-ranging health care education with an emphasis on problems concerning the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are instructed to address issues ranging from regular conditions for instance, ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are far more obscure for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have comprehensive surgical training which give them the skill necessary to carry out surgery on those concerns that are ideally managed through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute furthermore have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet endure as we walk, run or perform other activities. Recognizing biomechanics and gait deviations enables a Podiatrist to design shoes and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and minimize the risk of many complications which the feet usually encounter.
