Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Podiatrists at The Foot Institute – Camrose concentrate on the medical and surgical treatment of the ankle and foot. Foot Institute Doctors put in about ten years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to attain a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to attain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to general medical school and in reality many podiatry programmes are located within these academic institutions. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 to 3 years.

Upon the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have gained substantial healthcare instruction with an attention to on issues pertaining to the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are trained to treat concerns ranging from typical disorders for instance fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are much more sophisticated for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have substantial surgical instruction which provide them the experience vital to execute surgical treatment on those problems that are ideally managed through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute also have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs endure as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Understanding biomechanics and gait problems makes it possible for a Foot doctor to create footwear and orthotics that can bestow pain relief and help prevent a large number of issues which the feet typically experience.
