Podiatric Medical School corresponds to standard medical school and numerous podiatry programs are contained within these academic institutions. After attaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Doctors have received significant health care training with an emphasis on concerns involving the feet and ankles. They are educated to address problems extending from general afflictions for instance ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are far more complicated like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have extensive surgical training which give them the skill needed to perform surgical treatment on those complications that are ideally managed through surgical treatment.

Our Doctors furthermore have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet receive as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Comprehending biomechanics and gait problems makes it possible for a Podiatrist to design shoes and orthotics that can offer pain relief and reduce the chances of many issues which the feet routinely encounter.
