Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Health professionals at The Foot Institute – Camrose provide services for the medical and surgical treatment of the ankle and foot. Our podiatrists devote an average of ten years in education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to attain a Bachelors Degree, and the following 4 years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles traditional medical school and in fact many podiatry programs are located within these institutions. After achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 - 3 years.

At the finalization of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatric physicians have gained considerable medical education with a focus on concerns regarding the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are trained to address problems ranging from common afflictions for example, ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are far more challenging including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have thorough surgical training which furnish them the skill vital to perform surgery on those problems that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors likewise have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs go through as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait abnormalities enables a Foot doctor to design shoes and orthotics that can provide pain relief and protect against many complications which the feet frequently experience.
