Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical professionals here at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialize in the surgical and medical treatment of the ankle and foot. Foot Institute Doctors put in an average of a decade in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the following four years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to traditional medical school and in fact many podiatry programmes lie inside these schools. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatric physicians have received significant medical training with an emphasis on issues involving the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are taught to treat problems ranging from typical problems like fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are even more puzzling for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have extensive surgical instruction which furnish them the skill necessary to carry out surgical treatment on those concerns that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors additionally have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs undergo as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Learning about biomechanics and gait problems facilitates a Podiatric doctor to design shoes and orthotics which can provide pain relief and avoid many troubles which the feet normally encounter.
