Foot Institute Doctors spend about 10 years in higher education, the first four years in undergrad studies to get a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles typical medical school and in fact several podiatry programmes lie within these schools. After securing a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the finalization of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatric doctors have received wide-ranging medical education with an emphasis on issues pertaining to the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are studied to handle problems ranging from simple afflictions for instance ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are more complex for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have substantial surgical education which furnish them the experience crucial to conduct surgery on those conditions that are ideally managed through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors also have an extensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs withstand as we walk, run or perform other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait abnormalities makes it possible for a Podiatrist to design shoes and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and prevent many problems which the feet generally encounter.
