Our podiatrists spend around ten years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the next 4 years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to regular medical school and in fact several podiatry programs are located within these schools. After attaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute carry out a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

Upon the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have acquired comprehensive medical instruction with an importance on complications pertaining to the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are instructed to treat complications stretching from usual conditions for example, ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are much more intricate for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have comprehensive surgical instruction which provide them the experience necessary to perform surgery on those problems that are ideally handled through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors also have an extensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Recognizing biomechanics and gait irregularities empowers a Podiatric doctor to create shoes and orthotics that can offer pain relief and defend against a large number of issues which the feet routinely encounter.
