Dr.’s at The Foot Institute – Calgary Sunpark specialise in the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. They put in an average of a decade in education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to general medical school and in point of fact a number of podiatry training programs are located within these academic institutions. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have received substantial health care instruction with a main focus on problems pertaining to the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors likewise have an extensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs endure as we walk, run or carry out other activities.
