Spruce Grove Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Dr.’s here at The Foot Institute – Spruce Grove concentrate on the medical and surgical treatment of the ankle and foot. Our podiatrists put in about a decade in education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the following four years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to typical medical school and in point of fact several podiatry programmes are contained within these academic institutions. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another one to three years.

At the finalization of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatrists have received comprehensive medical instruction with an emphasis on issues concerning the feet and ankles. They are trained to treat complications varying from standard conditions for instance fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are more obscure including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have substantial surgical instruction which supply them the expertise needed to perform surgical treatment on those problems that are ideally remedied through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors likewise have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs endure as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Realizing biomechanics and gait irregularities enables a Podiatrist to design footwear and orthotics which can provide pain relief and reduce the chances of a large number of problems which the feet frequently experience.
