Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Doctors here at The Foot Institute – Red Deer provide services for the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. They devote approximately 10 years in education, the first four years in undergrad studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to general medical school and in reality quite a number podiatry training programs lie inside these schools. Upon obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another 1 to 3 years.

At the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have received comprehensive healthcare training with an attention to on problems pertaining to the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are trained to deal with concerns varying from conventional afflictions such as ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are even more intricate for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have substantial surgical instruction which supply them the experience vital to conduct surgery on those complications that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors also have an extensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs endure as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Understanding biomechanics and gait peculiarities empowers a Podiatrist to design shoes and orthotics that can deliver pain relief and minimize the risk of a large number of conditions which the feet regularly encounter.
