Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Health professionals at The Foot Institute – Camrose concentrate on the surgical and medical treatment of the ankle and foot. Our doctors spend approximately 10 years in learning, the first four years in undergraduate studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd four years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to standard medical school and as a matter of fact several podiatry programs are contained within these academic institutions. After securing a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute carry out a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

Upon the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have gained extensive medical instruction with a main focus on difficulties involving the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are trained to deal with problems extending from common problems such as fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are far more intricate for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have thorough surgical instruction which furnish them the skill needed to conduct surgery on those troubles that are ideally remedied through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors also have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet withstand as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Knowing biomechanics and gait problems makes it easy for a Foot doctor to design shoes and orthotics which can provide pain relief and reduce the chances of numerous complications which the feet regularly experience.
