Our doctors spend an average of a decade in learning, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to regular medical school and in point of fact many podiatry programmes are contained inside these academic institutions. After achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 to 3 years.

Upon the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have acquired comprehensive medical education with a focus on complications pertaining to the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are educated to handle issues ranging from standard problems like fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are even more obscure for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have extensive surgical training which furnish them the experience necessary to conduct surgery on those problems that are best handled through surgical treatment.

Our Doctors furthermore have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Knowing biomechanics and gait abnormalities allows a Foot doctor to create footwear and orthotics that can deliver pain relief and reduce the chances of numerous conditions which the feet routinely encounter.
