Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Dr.’s here at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialize in the surgical and medical treatment of the ankle and foot. They spend approximately ten years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to regular medical school and in fact numerous podiatry programmes are contained inside these institutions. Upon attaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another one to three years.

At the finalization of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have obtained extensive health care training with a focus on conditions pertaining to the ankles and feet. They are trained to care for concerns stretching from usual ailments for instance ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are a lot more obscure for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have thorough surgical education which provide them the experience necessary to conduct surgical treatment on those issues that are best handled through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute furthermore have an extensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs submit to as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Knowing biomechanics and gait abnormalities permits a Podiatric physician to design shoes and orthotics that can bestow pain relief and prevent many troubles which the feet regularly encounter.
