Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Physicians here at The Foot Institute – Camrose concentrate on the medical and surgical treatment of the ankle and foot. Our doctors devote an average of 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles general medical school and in fact several podiatry programs are located inside these institutions. After acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for an additional one to three years.

At the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have gained substantial medical education with a concentration on concerns concerning the ankles and feet. They are instructed to deal with issues ranging from conventional disorders such as ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are more sophisticated for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have significant surgical education which give them the experience crucial to conduct surgical treatment on those concerns that are ideally treated through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have a comprehensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Learning about biomechanics and gait deviations makes it easy for a Podiatric doctor to design footwear and orthotics that can bestow pain relief and prevent many issues which the feet frequently encounter.
