Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Specialists here at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialise in the medical and surgical therapy of the ankle and foot. Our doctors invest about ten years in education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to attain a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to acquire a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to conventional medical school and in fact a number of podiatry training programs are located inside these academic institutions. Upon receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for an additional one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatrists have received extensive health care training with an attention to on problems regarding the ankles and feet. They are skilled to handle problems stretching from common disorders for instance, ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are far more challenging including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have substantial surgical training which supply them the experience needed to perform surgery on those concerns that are best handled through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute likewise have an extensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs go through as we walk, run or perform other activities. Understanding biomechanics and gait problems allows a Podiatrist to create shoes and orthotics which can give pain relief and minimize the risk of numerous problems which the feet regularly encounter.
