They put in about 10 years in education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to standard medical school and as a matter of fact various podiatry training programs are located within these academic institutions. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 - 3 years.

Upon the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have gained extensive medical education with a focus on problems involving the feet and ankles. They are qualified to deal with issues extending from familiar afflictions for example, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are even more puzzling including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have comprehensive surgical training which furnish them the expertise necessary to perform surgical treatment on those troubles that are best managed through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute additionally have a comprehensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet go through as we walk, run or perform other activities. Knowing biomechanics and gait deviations enables a Podiatrist to design footwear and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and protect against numerous issues which the feet routinely experience.
