They devote approximately 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to typical medical school and a number of podiatry programmes are contained within these schools. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have gained wide-ranging medical training with a main focus on problems regarding the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are instructed to care for difficulties varying from familiar afflictions such as fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are even more obscure like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have comprehensive surgical education which furnish them the experience necessary to carry out surgical treatment on those conditions that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors likewise have a comprehensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs withstand as we walk, run or perform other activities. Understanding biomechanics and gait problems allows a Podiatrist to develop shoes and orthotics which can give pain relief and avoid many issues which the feet frequently encounter.
