Grande Prairie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical professionals at The Foot Institute – Grande Prairie provide services for the surgical and medical treatment of the ankle and foot. Our doctors devote about a decade in learning, the first four years in undergraduate studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to traditional medical school and in reality various podiatry programs are contained within these institutions. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another one to three years.

Upon the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Doctors have gained extensive health care education with an emphasis on problems pertaining to the feet and ankles. They are qualified to manage problems stretching from normal ailments for instance, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are far more sophisticated such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have substantial surgical training which furnish them the prior experience vital to carry out surgical treatment on those issues that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute also have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs undergo as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Learning about biomechanics and gait irregularities facilitates a Podiatric physician to develop shoes and orthotics which can offer pain relief and avoid many problems which the feet commonly experience.
