Our podiatrists put in about a decade in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to get a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and as a matter of fact several podiatry programs are contained within these academic institutions. Upon attaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for an additional one to three years.

At the conclusion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatric physicians have obtained significant medical instruction with an emphasis on problems regarding the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are qualified to treat problems varying from conventional ailments for instance, ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are more obscure for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have thorough surgical instruction which furnish them the experience necessary to carry out surgical treatment on those conditions that are ideally treated through surgical treatment.

Doctors at the Foot Institute furthermore have an extensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs endure as we walk, run or perform other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait abnormalities makes it easy for a Podiatrist to develop shoes and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and defend against numerous problems which the feet regularly encounter.
