Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical professionals at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialise in the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. They spend an average of 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd four years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to standard medical school and quite a number podiatry programmes lie inside these institutions. Upon securing a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for yet another one to three years.

Upon the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Doctors have received considerable health care education with an importance on problems regarding the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are studied to treat conditions ranging from simple problems for instance, fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are much more puzzling for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have significant surgical training which supply them the expertise required to perform surgery on those complications that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors also have an extensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs go through as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Knowing biomechanics and gait peculiarities makes it possible for a Podiatrist to develop shoes and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and avoid countless troubles which the feet typically encounter.
