Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Dr.’s here at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialise in the medical and surgical treatment of the ankle and foot. Foot Institute Doctors devote around 10 years in learning, the first four years in undergraduate studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the following 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to usual medical school and several podiatry training programs are contained within these academic institutions. After procuring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the conclusion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatrists have gained substantial healthcare training with an attention to on complications regarding the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are instructed to treat difficulties ranging from typical ailments such as fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are more perplexing including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have comprehensive surgical education which provide them the experience crucial to perform surgical treatment on those issues that are ideally managed through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors also have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs go through as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Realizing biomechanics and gait deviations facilitates a Foot doctor to create footwear and orthotics which can give pain relief and avoid many problems which the feet frequently experience.
