Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Physicians at The Foot Institute – Camrose focus on the medical and surgical therapy of the foot and ankle. They invest approximately 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the following four years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to regular medical school and as a matter of fact various podiatry programmes are located within these institutions. Upon obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for an additional one to three years.

At the conclusion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatric physicians have gained substantial medical training with an emphasis on conditions pertaining to the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are instructed to handle conditions ranging from conventional ailments for instance, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are a lot more complex for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have considerable surgical instruction which give them the skill vital to carry out surgery on those problems that are best treated through surgical treatment.

Doctors at the Foot Institute furthermore have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs go through as we walk, run or perform other activities. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait peculiarities enables a Foot doctor to create shoes and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and help prevent numerous issues which the feet frequently encounter.
