Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Physicians at The Foot Institute – Camrose focus on the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. They devote an average of a decade in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd four years in Medical School to acquire a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to regular medical school and in reality several podiatry programs are located within these academic institutions. Upon obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have obtained encompassing medical education with an emphasis on concerns pertaining to the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are trained to handle conditions varying from normal afflictions such as fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are even more perplexing like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have extensive surgical training which give them the practical experience necessary to perform surgery on those issues that are ideally remedied through surgical treatment.

Foot Institute Doctors also have a comprehensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet withstand as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Comprehending biomechanics and gait irregularities empowers a Podiatrist to design shoes and orthotics which can provide pain relief and help prevent a large number of complications which the feet typically experience.
