Airdrie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Doctors at The Foot Institute – Airdrie specialize in the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. They devote about a decade in learning, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to attain a Bachelors Degree, and the following 4 years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and in reality many podiatry programs are contained inside these academic institutions. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

Upon the conclusion of the internship or post degree residency, our Doctors have acquired extensive health care instruction with an emphasis on problems regarding the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are trained to care for issues varying from familiar ailments for instance, fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are more puzzling for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have extensive surgical instruction which give them the prior experience essential to carry out surgical treatment on those issues that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute likewise have a comprehensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet go through as we walk, run or perform other activities. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait irregularities permits a Foot doctor to design shoes and orthotics that can offer pain relief and avoid numerous problems which the feet usually encounter.
