Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Specialists here at The Foot Institute – Camrose focus on the surgical and medical treatment of the ankle and foot. They spend around 10 years in education, the first four years in undergrad studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to typical medical school and several podiatry programmes are located within these institutions. After receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for an additional 1 to 3 years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Doctors have acquired wide-ranging medical training with an attention to on conditions regarding the feet and ankles. They are qualified to manage conditions extending from conventional ailments like fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are much more sophisticated for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have significant surgical education which furnish them the prior experience needed to perform surgical treatment on those concerns that are best managed through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute additionally have an extensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs experience as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Comprehending biomechanics and gait abnormalities empowers a Podiatrist to create footwear and orthotics that can provide pain relief and protect against a large number of complications which the feet generally encounter.
