Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Specialists here at The Foot Institute – Camrose focus on the surgical and medical therapy of the foot and ankle. They devote around ten years in education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to attain a Bachelors Degree, and the following four years in Medical School to attain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to general medical school and in fact numerous podiatry programmes are contained inside these institutions. Upon securing a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute carry out a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for an additional 1 to 3 years.

Upon the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have obtained thorough medical instruction with a focus on problems pertaining to the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are trained to care for issues ranging from common disorders for instance ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are a lot more challenging including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have significant surgical education which provide them the practical experience necessary to perform surgery on those conditions that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute furthermore have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet withstand as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Realizing biomechanics and gait deviations makes it easy for a Podiatric physician to design shoes and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and protect against countless issues which the feet normally encounter.
