Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Dr.’s at The Foot Institute – Camrose provide services for the medical and surgical therapy of the foot and ankle. Foot Institute Podiatrists spend an average of 10 years in higher education, the first four years in undergrad studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to attain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles standard medical school and in fact a number of podiatry programmes are contained within these institutions. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

Upon the conclusion of the internship or post degree residency, our Doctors have acquired thorough healthcare instruction with a concentration on complications involving the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are educated to address conditions stretching from typical conditions for example, ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are a lot more challenging for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have considerable surgical education which provide them the prior experience necessary to execute surgery on those issues that are ideally treated through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute also have an extensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs go through as we walk, run or perform other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait problems empowers a Podiatrist to create shoes and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and reduce the chances of a large number of troubles which the feet generally encounter.
