Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical doctors here at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialize in the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our podiatrists invest about 10 years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the next 4 years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to typical medical school and in fact several podiatry programs are located within these academic institutions. Upon obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 - 3 years.

Upon the finalization of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatric doctors have acquired substantial healthcare education with a focus on conditions regarding the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are taught to treat problems ranging from familiar disorders for instance, fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are even more obscure including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have thorough surgical education which provide them the practical experience essential to perform surgical treatment on those problems that are ideally managed through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs withstand as we walk, run or perform other activities. Recognizing biomechanics and gait abnormalities facilitates a Podiatrist to develop shoes and orthotics that can provide pain relief and reduce the chances of countless issues which the feet typically experience.
