Airdrie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Specialists at The Foot Institute – Airdrie concentrate on the medical and surgical therapy of the ankle and foot. They spend about ten years in learning, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the following four years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and as a matter of fact many podiatry training programs are located within these academic institutions. After acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

Upon the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have gained comprehensive health care education with an attention to on problems involving the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are studied to care for problems ranging from familiar afflictions such as ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are much more perplexing for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have substantial surgical training which furnish them the experience crucial to conduct surgical treatment on those concerns that are ideally treated through surgical treatment.

Our Doctors also have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs undergo as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Recognizing biomechanics and gait deviations makes it possible for a Podiatric physician to design footwear and orthotics which can provide pain relief and help prevent countless conditions which the feet generally encounter.
