Foot Institute Podiatrists spend approximately 10 years in education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the next 4 years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to usual medical school and in fact numerous podiatry programs lie inside these institutions. Upon obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute carry out a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatrists have received considerable health care training with a stress on conditions regarding the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are trained to treat complications ranging from basic afflictions such as fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are even more complicated for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have considerable surgical education which give them the expertise needed to perform surgical treatment on those problems that are ideally treated through surgical treatment.

Our Doctors additionally have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or perform other activities. Understanding biomechanics and gait abnormalities makes it possible for a Podiatrist to develop footwear and orthotics which can give pain relief and avoid a large number of conditions which the feet usually encounter.
