Our doctors put in an average of 10 years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to get a Bachelors Degree, and the following four years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to conventional medical school and in fact numerous podiatry programmes are located inside these schools. After attaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatric doctors have obtained encompassing healthcare instruction with an emphasis on problems pertaining to the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are skilled to treat problems ranging from typical problems like ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are more obscure such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors additionally have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet receive as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Realizing biomechanics and gait problems allows a Podiatrist to develop shoes and orthotics that can give pain relief and prevent numerous issues which the feet generally encounter.
