Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Podiatrists at The Foot Institute – Camrose provide services for the surgical and medical treatment of the ankle and foot. Our doctors devote approximately a decade in higher education, the first four years in undergrad studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to regular medical school and in point of fact many podiatry programs lie within these academic institutions. After achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another one to three years.

At the finalization of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatrists have received significant medical training with an emphasis on complications involving the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are skilled to address concerns ranging from common disorders for example, ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are much more sophisticated including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have considerable surgical education which furnish them the expertise required to conduct surgical treatment on those problems that are best remedied through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs undergo as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Learning about biomechanics and gait problems facilitates a Podiatric doctor to create footwear and orthotics which can give pain relief and avoid many conditions which the feet routinely encounter.
