Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Dr.’s at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialize in the surgical and medical therapy of the foot and ankle. Foot Institute Doctors spend an average of a decade in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to attain a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to conventional medical school and in point of fact several podiatry training programs are located within these academic institutions. After receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another one to three years.

At the conclusion of the internship or post degree residency, our Foot doctors have received substantial medical instruction with a main focus on problems involving the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are instructed to manage complications ranging from standard ailments for instance ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are even more complex including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have comprehensive surgical instruction which provide them the experience required to execute surgery on those concerns that are best treated through surgical treatment.

Our Doctors furthermore have an extensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet submit to as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait abnormalities enables a Podiatrist to develop shoes and orthotics that can give pain relief and help prevent numerous complications which the feet frequently encounter.
