Physicians at The Foot Institute – Camrose concentrate on the medical and surgical therapy of the ankle and foot. They devote approximately a decade in education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to attain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles conventional medical school and in reality quite a number podiatry training programs lie inside these schools. At the finalization of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatrists have gained significant healthcare training with a stress on issues concerning the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are qualified to manage issues extending from basic afflictions for instance, fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are a lot more challenging for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have comprehensive surgical education which give them the expertise necessary to carry out surgical treatment on those complications that are ideally treated through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors additionally have an extensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet withstand as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Recognizing biomechanics and gait irregularities enables a Podiatric physician to design shoes and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and avoid a large number of complications which the feet usually encounter.
