Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Health professionals at The Foot Institute – Camrose concentrate on the surgical and medical therapy of the foot and ankle. They invest approximately 10 years in learning, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to attain a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to conventional medical school and in point of fact various podiatry programmes are contained inside these institutions. Upon receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have received substantial health care education with an emphasis on problems involving the feet and ankles. They are trained to handle conditions ranging from standard ailments for instance fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are far more challenging such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have substantial surgical education which give them the experience required to perform surgical treatment on those concerns that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors also have a comprehensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs receive as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Comprehending biomechanics and gait abnormalities facilitates a Foot doctor to create shoes and orthotics which can provide pain relief and help prevent a large number of problems which the feet generally encounter.
