Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Doctors here at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialise in the medical and surgical therapy of the ankle and foot. Our doctors spend approximately 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd four years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles traditional medical school and various podiatry training programs are located inside these schools. After attaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute carry out a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Doctors have obtained extensive medical training with an emphasis on concerns pertaining to the ankles and feet. They are studied to handle complications ranging from basic ailments for instance fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are a lot more intricate such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have comprehensive surgical education which supply them the prior experience needed to perform surgical treatment on those problems that are best managed through surgical treatment.

Foot Institute Doctors additionally have an extensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet submit to as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait deviations allows a Podiatric doctor to develop shoes and orthotics which can give pain relief and avoid many troubles which the feet regularly encounter.
