Foot Institute Doctors spend approximately 10 years in education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to attain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to usual medical school and in reality many podiatry training programs are contained within these schools. Upon obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Foot doctors have received considerable medical training with a main focus on complications regarding the ankles and feet. They are instructed to handle issues varying from general conditions for instance, ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are far more puzzling including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have thorough surgical education which give them the expertise needed to conduct surgery on those troubles that are ideally treated through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute furthermore have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs experience as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Recognizing biomechanics and gait peculiarities permits a Podiatrist to develop shoes and orthotics that can offer pain relief and reduce the chances of countless complications which the feet commonly experience.
