They spend approximately 10 years in education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to acquire a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to traditional medical school and as a matter of fact many podiatry training programs are located inside these academic institutions. After achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 to 3 years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have received considerable medical training with an attention to on concerns pertaining to the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are trained to treat concerns stretching from conventional afflictions for instance, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are far more complicated for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have significant surgical training which give them the skill essential to perform surgical treatment on those troubles that are ideally handled through surgical treatment.

Doctors at the Foot Institute also have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet experience as we walk, run or perform other activities. Learning about biomechanics and gait peculiarities facilitates a Podiatrist to create shoes and orthotics which can provide pain relief and reduce the chances of many complications which the feet normally experience.
