Doctors here at The Foot Institute – Grande Prairie concentrate on the medical and surgical treatment of the ankle and foot. Our podiatrists spend about ten years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the following four years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to regular medical school and in fact numerous podiatry programmes are located inside these schools. After receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

Upon the completion of the internship or residency, our Doctors have acquired substantial medical instruction with a concentration on difficulties pertaining to the ankles and feet. They are instructed to treat problems ranging from conventional conditions for example, fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are much more complicated such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot.
