They put in an average of ten years in learning, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the next 4 years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to traditional medical school and in reality many podiatry training programs are contained inside these academic institutions. After acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another one to three years.

At the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have received extensive healthcare education with an attention to on problems involving the ankles and feet. They are studied to address complications ranging from common problems for example, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are a lot more perplexing such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have extensive surgical education which give them the expertise necessary to execute surgical treatment on those problems that are best handled through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute also have a comprehensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs go through as we walk, run or perform other activities. Learning about biomechanics and gait abnormalities allows a Podiatrist to develop footwear and orthotics which can provide pain relief and reduce the chances of a large number of issues which the feet routinely experience.
